Kahr C-Drum Serial Number Information For Pinned Post

How can one tell the difference between Wh and Kahr C drums? Markings? Do both use the same SN convention? TIA

Bug,

The easiest way to tell visually is the serial number length. The WH drums have serial numbers of four digits, including leading zeros. The Kahr drums have serial numbers of six digits, including leading zeros. Of course, whether it works or not without modification may be another factor.

The WH drums I have seen have the number stamped on the front and back plate on all drums, but I don't know if that is true across the entire WH run. As noted above, with the exception of 939, it appears that Kahr dropped the number on the front somewhere between 1103 and 1229.

Thanks for the SN info above. I looked at what I've identified as a Kahr with 000714 on both front and back. The hole in the spindle foled me a little as did the price. Perhaps it was one of Jack Webbs.

I have two. One is 000729 front and back. The other is burried a bit too deep and will need to dig it out. As I recall it seemed odd with no numbers front or back, it also had a messed up finish.

Wait, did I say they were mine? I mean, depending on the outcome our elected officials will bring, I have once viewed the two mentioned above. I do not recall where they were or who was the owner. In fact, I deny viewing them as well....

Spotted one at a gun show yesterday #00088? (front) couldn't get real close or a price, it was new with box.

That would have been a Westy, yes?

The #00088? drum serial number might have a number where the ? is located that Uncle Dudley couldn't remember? Uncle Dudley ?

The three preceding 000 in the serial number would fit the Kahr serial number pattern.

That makes sense.

I couldn't remember the last number (?) and it was a newer Kahr in the box. The guy had it on his table sitting on top of the box. I was a couple people deep in the aisle and took a quick look and moved on.

I'm not going to add this one to the list, since it is questionable data. Here's where we are at the moment:
