Greg
Hey guys, when talking to one of the police chiefs in my disrtict, he let me see their dept's Thompson. It's a sweet Colt 1921Serial #3065. They claim it's "not shooting right". I have'nt been able to shoot it yet, but it appears to be ok. Does a 21 have the same type of buffer system a 1928 does? gijive
No, the actuator, recoil spring, buffer and pilot are different. What are the symptoms of it "not shooting right?"
Greg
GIJIVE, They say it hangs up about every tenth round. It looked pretty dry. I'm gonna give it a good cleaning in oiling.

The1930sRust
Here is a 1921 buffer set. http://www.darklightimagery.net/thompson/1921actuator01.jpg PK's is a new design, and probably much better (for the gun). http://www.darklightimagery.net/thompson/diakhybrid01.jpg
gijive
Nice pictures Chris, very well done. You have a pretty good knack for photography. Greg, Thompsons like oil, that's why they have the oiler pads in the 1921/28 Models. Clean it and oil it and see how it functions. If it still hangs up on box magazines, maybe the magazine feed lips and/or the magazine spring is possibly at fault. Cleaning and oiling might tell you what needs to be fixed. Worn springs in the receiver and grip frame also should be addressed.
