Thompson FAQ Updated, but Became Corrupted - In Process of Fixing

Recommended Posts

I tried to do an update to the FAQ section of the board today, as board member "cbmott" nicely provided several updates. However, as I have found sometimes happens with updating the really old content, it sometimes becomes corrupted, and I lose the photo links, and the text formatting. This happened today. I have updated about 2/3 of it so far, without photos, and will continue to work on it as I can.

I have not been as active on the board recently due to the following:

  • Work is crazy right now
  • Cub Scouts
  • Other family commitments
  • I have 2 months to prepare a presentation and manuscript for an ASAC meeting in late May
  • I'm trying to finish up my book on Eugene Reising and his .22 firearms (Currently at 247 pages)

Anyway, I'm hoping to get the FAQ section fixed this weekend, but no promises...I realize that it is a much depended upon resource with over 100,000 views...

Thanks!

I spent most of the day recovering the FAQ section...At 11:15pm, I got it to within one image of full recovery, and then it corrupted again...

I was able to restore it to the basic, updated text without bolding and images. It may stay like that for a little while...

David,

I truly sympathise... last week I had the same issue when updating the ‘British Army WW2 Small Arms Training Pamphlet 21' post with the addition of the South African SAT Pamphlet 21.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and as said above, we appreciate all you do to keep the forum running.

Stay safe

David,

What do you most like doing in your "spare time"?

Jim C

Jim,

I make "spare time" as much as I can. I most like going to KCR, OGCA, the August Show and Shoot, NRA, an annual private shooting event in Ohio, local service rifle matches, and vacations with the family to Gulf Shores, AL. I also like the results of Scouting with my 7-year old son, though as a Den Leader, it's a lot of preparation, and feels like work.

Richard,

Yeah, I don't know what it is, but it happens unpredictably when a post has been updated multiple times.

It just corrupted on me again...Now that I found almost all the photo links, I can do the updates in about 40 minutes, but it's the luck of the draw as to whether the update becomes corrupted when I submit it...

So, for now, it's going to just be text. I have to prepare for Scouts later today...

David,

Last week, having just attended the funeral of a friend that I served with in the military, I realised that life is short. So make the most of the time you have, do the things you enjoy and leave the rest for the long winter days, if you find time.

Stay safe

Richard
