Looking for a bolt!

The back lip of my bolt sheered off this past weekend and I'm on the hunt for a replacement. I found the used ones on Keystone's site, but was wondering if there are any other options (or if anyone has any of the newly produced ones stashed away that they'd be willing to part with ;) ).

Thanks!

I had the same thing happen in 1991 to serial number 111068. I'm curious what your serial number is and if there may be a serial number range that may have had improper heat treated bolts.

I bought a used replacement bolt 25 years ago that is still going strong. My original bolt that sheared off the piece looked mint when it happened.

I know nothing about Keystone used bolts. Reising bolts have never been as prevalent as Thompson 1928 bolts.

I bought a new made bolt 10 years ago, from Numrich ( think).

Didn't work , had to return.

Later I bought a used bolt and its in my gun. Original bolt in reserve.

I'd sooner trust a lightly used original bolt.

Just because its rusty doesn't make it original.

Keep in mind these parts were not made to be 100% interchangeable. Hand fitting was performed at H&R, and therefore may be required for any replacement bolt today. Remember, the Marines adopted the Reising at a time when they really needed guns, and they decided to forego interchangeability requirements. The fact that this was not communicated well within their ranks led to issues such as were experienced with the weapon at Guadalcanal.

Springman,

Have a spare stripped bolt pricing would be reasonable say $100.00 plus shipping. Years ago I bought this bolt from Numrich if bolt doesn’t work will buy it back from you. Complete with bolt, screw and extractor $125.00 plus shipping

Here are some pics . It is a bolt body only , but I do have a used extractor and screw . As you can see , the extractor looks to need a wee bit of fitting to the bolt . The bolt face looks unmarked / unfired to me .

With used ones in the $100-$150 range , I would figure a new one to be around $300 shipped . I'd throw in the extractor and screw .

Thank you so much , I know we can get these awesome MG's to run if we keep trying to work out the bugs. I will let you know how the new bolt works as soon as it arrives.
