American Thunder Madness

Recommended Posts

I think I've paid so much forward that I'm behind! Naw, it's not that bad. It doesn't cost a thing to be a nice guy.

But seriously folks, if somebody here is interested in my A.T. 1 & 2 books, send me a PM and we'll deal.

Cheers,

Ron

That's not a bad price considering someone on Amazon is asking over $13k for a used copy of AT II. I was looking at Thompson books the other day on Amazon, and one was listed for over $23k! I really wish I could remember what book it was. If I had $23k to drop, it would be on an actual Thompson, not a book about them.

Looks like we are fast approaching the Dutch Tulip phase of Thompson collecting.

There are at least two sellers on Amazon Marketplace that list insane prices for gun books. Joke? Matybe just fishing for suckers?

Don't think they ever sell them. No way to know because Amazon makes it disappear whether it sold or whether the listing was withdrawn.

Really messes up the market because people google the titles to get an idea of an asking price and see the crazy listings. If they're not gun or book people, they come away with unrealistic expectations.

Gents,

My books now sold, thanks. Next project: Line up those multi-colored boiled eggs this coming Sunday and blast away! At least 25 yards out, just to be "sporting". No Lyman ladders allowed

David, thanks for the offer. It was the only "high dollar" thing I saw in four days at the Creek I was seriously interested in.

Dolf's Vickers book is one of those to hold on to, it has zero chance of ever being reprinted due to the fact they have lost the plates it was originally printed with. The only way it could be reprinted would be to copy an existing book but the quality of such a reprint would be so low they will not do it.

I came very close to paying $500 for Dolf's Vickers book at Knob Creek and I regret that I didn't.

Wow! I bought my author's numbered copy directly from Dolf at the Houston Gun show about 20 years ago. I think it was $60. If you ever need me to look someting up, let me know.

Just got back home to Ohio, and checked my book...It's #212 of 300 author edition books, signed to me by Dolf on August 6, 1994.
