MP44 double magazine Theater made ?

Recommended Posts

During the Korean war, my Dad used two magazines, placed one upside down and used tape to hold them together. When he emptied one 30 round mag, he would remove and then insert the other one into his M2 carbine. Worked quite well with the North Korean and Chi Coms mass wave bugles charges.

Looks like the same principle where they spaced the mags out just a bit and welded in spacers so they could do a quick mag change on Ivan (or us). Quite ingenious, bet a local armourer came up with that concept for his unit.

But to answer you question, I have never seen that before.

I think it's a fake. It's doesn't correspond to the Wehrmacht way. More than that, welding has been really well executed for something made on late war. Magazine are used both sides or interiors sides should have been protected. The seller on the german bidding site has usually weird things to sell like that.

I saw this on Egun and posted the auction on the K98K forum.

It's very strange, and I do not believe it is WW2 vintage.

Potentially Yugoslavian, as the MP44's were used by their post-war airborne brigade.

Wouldn't have been Bund Police, interesting for sure, sadly value is likely less than the two magazines parted out.

Almost certainly home-made for whatever reason who knows, someone with time on their hands.
