Barrel Carrier ID... Maxim ?

Since I'm having such luck with the USGI offset pintel I figure we will try something else.... Two Barrel Carriers the fit maxim barrel perfectly but they have a metal insert that clearly hold a cleaning rod and something else... One is a SA marked black, nice leather with  SA marking as shown. The other is brown leather with A FN O/Y marking on the end cover. So what do you all know...

SA marked is a Finnish Maxim barrel carrier.  AV3 is the Finnish weapons depot at Kuopio.

Thanks men. Any idea what the other large hole next to the barrel assembly was for? I would assume the small one is for a cleaning rod...
