Arthur Fliegenheimer
Grief fills the room up of my absent child, Lies in bed, walks up and down with me, Puts on his pretty looks, repeats his words, Remebers me of all his gracious parts, Stuffs out his vacant garments with his form; Then have I reason to be found of grief, Fare you well: had you such a loss as I, I could give better comfort than you do, I will not keep this form upon my head, When there is such disorder in my wit, O Lord! my boy, my Arthur, my fair son! My life, my joy, my food, my all the world! My widow-comfort, and my sorrows' cure! Shakespeare, King John ,Act
deerslayer
Could a police department buy this before it gets cut? I know I've heard the museums can take possession.

JimFromFL
Why is he rushing to get it chopped??? Ask him what he thinks he could get for the parts then tell him he could probably get 2 times as much if he sold it to a museum or something. I may know of one that would be interested if it is indeed possible to still sell it to one.

Liberator
QUOTE (deerslayer @ Feb 5 2004, 06:44 PM) Could a police department buy this before it gets cut? I know I've heard the museums can take possession. How does one qualify as a museum? I've been told I could start one.
John Jr
Last "parts kit" that was Colt sold for 4K or therebouts on Ebay a year or two ago, parts were split up into like 4 auctions. Stupid laws! Jr

Walter63a
It might have been my statement, which I deleted. I merely expressed the sentiment that anyone who would cut such a weapon should go to prison, although slightly more colorfully. It was more a statement refering to the stupid Federal laws concerning these weapons. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/mad.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif This is an emotional issue for a lot of us, when we continue to hear about more of these beauties being cut up for parts! I never mentioned anyone by name, nor was my statement directed at any particular individual. So, I think that some individuals should not jump to conclusions, rashly. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/unsure.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif Regards, Walter P.S. I certainly never intended to flame anyone, if that was how it was interpreted.

Walter63a
Hardrede, I'm glad it wasn't me! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif I know there are sensitive people out there, and I did miss his "pipe down" statement. I didn't think my comment (more of a joke, really) was that outrageous. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif Regards, Walter P.S. Walter63a
Hardrede, I replied to your earlier email. Let's all see what we can do about ending the 1994 and 1986 laws concerning large capacity magazines and new manufacture/importation of machineguns and parts for civilians (only)! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif Best regards, Walter
Arthur Fliegenheimer
Walter, Have you given up on repealing the 1934 law?
Walter63a
Arthur, certainly not! However, I would like to concentrate on the more recent, less entrenched, more egregious and objectionable laws first. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif Regards, Walter
Walter63a
Hardrede, I don't see why newly manufactured Tommies would have to be Franken-Tommies. I think, as Arthur once said (wrote), it is a proven design. All that would be required, once the laws are repealed, would be a company willing to produce a quality product. Those upset by such a development should invest in the stock market, not in Tommies!!! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif Regards, Walter P.S. Yes, I realize that Colts and WWII production Thompsons would always command a superior price, as they should. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif
