I ran across a Colt 21A yesterday at the Smithsonians Museum of American History in the Mars Inc. American Enterprise exhibition. The display cases are dimmly lit making it difficult to see or photograph anything. Whats interesting about this one is the serial number has been removed. No idea what number this gun is/was. Heres a link to the guns official photo on the Smithsonians web site: http://ids.si.edu/id...MAH-JN2014-3490
And a couple of bad cell phone photos I snapped yesterday.Attached File  FD36B9F6-BAE9-4EE6-9751-463E65EB93D5.jpeg   63.09K   13 downloadsAttached File  7ED9CC1B-4F30-4A7E-8603-1E9254A97666.jpeg   56.63K   21 downloadsAttached File  DA4D7530-02A1-4380-8574-5029E9DBCE8A.jpeg   56.56K   20 downloads
Maybe somebody knows a little more about this one. Theres information in the display except a card that says Thompson submachine gun.

Ok, fast follow-up... Here’s the museum’s record: https://americanhist...ect/nmah_416040
Maybe the gun is #7098 according to their accession record.

9962 is NICE.  Wish it was in civilian hands though!
