full auto 45
Murray has informed me that he was awarded to "Queens Service Medal" for outstanding contribution to the public of New Zealand. He said he didn't know why he was selected, but I'll tell you that if you have met Murray, you know what a great person he is. You can read it for yourself on the web site. It is down towards the bottom of the page under the heading "THE QUEEN'S SERVICE MEDAL FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE, Q.S.M." Here is what it looks like. http://www.dpmc.govt.nz/honours/images/qso-medal-male-lg-bd.jpg

Murray
Thank you all for such kind words. Ohio Phil actually brought a tear to my eye. You were so kind in what you said Phil, For those of you who may not know the background have a look at : http://www.acepay.co.nz/pr010207.htm For me, the greatest rewards have been getting to know all of you. The many real friends that I have met and made through General John Thompson and this forum. The prize was finding that Colt "C" drum at the last SAR show. God bless you all. Happy New Thompson Year. Walter63a
Congratulations to Murray Willis,QSM! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif You are a credit to your family and New Zealand. I like to think of you as a freedom-fighter (for standing up to tyrannical bullies), citizen of the World, Thompson afficionado extraordinaire, and friend to the worldwide Thompson community. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif Best Regards, Walter
Randy Lish
Murray, You never cease to amaze me!!! First, you tell me a few years ago about the IRD incident and how you took them to task; you take them court and win ( virtually unheard of in the this country regarding the I.R.S ). Second, I see you walking on cloud nine at the 2004 S.A.R. Show after having just made the purchase of the century. You ask if both drums are originals ( which they were ) and you tell me what you paid for them; you really should spend some time in Las Vegas, you''d make a bundle with the kind of luck you have! Third, you get this fantastic award ????? Murray, just please remember us little ol' folk when you get knighted and are granted a country all your own. Congratulations my friend, it is well deserved and couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Looking forward to seeing you and Jan at the 2005 S.A.R. Show. Best Regards & Good on ya' Mate! Balder
Murray, Congratulations on your QSM! I also admire your stamina and sense of justice in your year-long fight with the authorities - good job! You've set an example for all of us to follow; if everybody stood up for themselves like this the authorities would be kept in line. Thank you for doing just that. Respectfully, Balder
