Greystone45
I was wondering how many WWII Thompson owners have the original or copy of the original form 4467 Amnesty Registration paper showing their Thompson being registered in 1968? Would this be considered rare to have with your Thompson?
TD.
I would have no idea number wise, but would consider it a plus for any Thompson that has an original or unredacted copy of the first IRS or ATF registration document. I find this type of provenance adds more to desirability rather than value.
RoscoeTurner
I had the original 1968 paperwork for an MG42 I used to own, added nothing to the value as far as I was concerned.
MrBill
i bought a re-weld 28 Savage with a four digit serial S- serial number. When i pulled a FOIA on the gun I got a copy of the 68 amnesty form that simply said "live gun".
Black River Militaria CII
Mr. Bill: unfortunately it was registered during the ‘68 Amnesty and should never have been cut and welded, if it actually was. Who is listed as the “manufacturer/importer” on your paperwork?

Black River Militaria CII
As it should be, and again sorry that it was cut and welded.
Waldo
I have the amnesty paperwork for my MKII sten. It was bought back from Korea by a Marine about 1954 or 55. He had it until he sold it to me about 1985. He told me he never worried about registering it until he saw the notice about the amnesty at the post office. TSMG28
I have a copy of the amnesty registration of the WWII bring back that I bought two years ago. The vet gave it or sold it to the local sheriff who registered it during the amnesty. It had one other owner between the sheriff and me, so I have its full ATF paper trail.
