I've run across a new manufacture finned replacement barrel for a WH ('76) 1928A1 from Apex (https://www.apexgunp...readed-new.html ) . Does anyone out there know if these are compatible for the later WH models? Any advice appreciated.

If by "Later WH models", you mean the selective fire Thompson replicas made in the 70's and 80's:
Yes, the receiver threads are the same.
IF you mean the current semi-auto's, sorry, I have no idea.
Dan "Deerslayer" has more experience than most with these; hopefully he will comment.
(My guess only: These Apex barrels and the description used suggest to me they are from Green Mountain)

In the "more information" tab in the 1928 barrel advert the maker (GMRBC) is indicated.
They are the same source that manufactures the M1 Thompson barrels that we sell.
In the case of these M1928 barrels I provided the WWII DoD print and Green Mountain used that for the dimensions.
They also blue them.
I have sold a lot of the M1 barrels and some of the latest M1928 barrels, but none of those customers have indicated what guns they installed them on.
I am hoping someone lets me know what fitting on a West Hurley made gun comes out.

I have learned a lot here and also learned I STILL have a lot to learn!
It was favorable comments here that indicated to me that APEX should carry the M1 Thompson barrels manufactured by GMRBC.
My previous experience with them was why I wanted them supplied blued.
For many years I have accumulated data / drawings from the web, and moved those files from PC to PC.
Its nice to put the Thompson drawings to use.
The drawing that eluded me was for the STEN MK5 barrel.
It took just short of a years worth of effort to procure a copy from the archives at Royal Ordnance.
The engineer at GMRBC made some interesting observations when working with that print!
It helped me understand why the STEN is so agreeable to such a wide variety of ammunition.

I owe thanks to Mr. Wilkins, my High School instructor who taught me "Mechanical Drawing" before it was software!
I enjoyed that class, never thought I would put that knowledge to any practical use.

Bought one it it screws on both a semi auto Kahr thompson, WW2 Thompson, and a Philadelphia ord receiver no problem.

Reviving an old thread...
APEX has Thompson barrels in stock, however, my ability to restock is now a long time into the future.
Based on recent purchases from the web site I think there isn't much out on the web to choose from.
With people buying them from us in numbers, (5 to 10 at a time) it won't be too long before APEX is OOS.
If you want a barrel from us as a spare or to build on, I would not wait too much longer to make that purchase.
Getting new made barrels at this time is proving to be quite difficult.
All my back ordered barrels have delivery dates that just got pushed out way to the right, and these were ordered last fall.

Oh yes we let a flu type virus destroy the earth and economy for sure.
from buying carbon filters, Lumber, Circuit boards and ammo. And wait until the current regime is cutting off Imports of all that gun friendly stuff now. Enjoy in life all that you have..
we will never go back to the way we were.......ever in a lifetime.
I am good with that I lived the "Good Times"
even when you could buy a simple barrel.and shoot a case of ammo downrange on the cheap.
