Lyman Ladder Sight Issue

Recommended Posts

The only part that keeps the leaf from moving is the little PC of spring steel with the plunger on it .

If the spring is week or the tip of plunge is worn down.

Last I new numrich had them for a few bucks each.

It happens to all original sights. The inch of travel does not effect sight picture. I just looked at a TSMG collection and immediately saw which gun the owner actually shot because the sight leaf was forward. If you want to gum up your sight with locktite or fingernail polish then go for it, but honestly does it matter?

I have added a small drop of rubber cement on each side. Seems to be solvent-proof and rubs off easily if need be.

I also use a drop spread out inside lower and upper scope rings before final seating and assembly to keep the scope from ever moving. Allows tiny adjustments before tightening. It also keeps water out, important with steel rings.
