Counterfeit Winchester Model 12 Trench Gun

Just curious but would a buttstock as figured as that be acceptable to the inspector? A very pretty M12. For that much $ I’d want a pretty bayonet to go with it and as it’s got swivels it needs a minty sling.

problem is that two buyers down the road it will be sold as "grand dad's bring home from a crate of new trench guns " and all original, and some unknowing buyer will pays a lot of money for it.

But yes it is a pretty gun -

I don't think this is a likely scenario. The serial number of this one dates it to 1950. The East Taylor repro bayonet mount/heat shield is good, but there's no chance of it being confused for one by Winchester. Winchester's mount was milled, and the heat shield brazed on. East Taylor's mount is cast, and rivets are used to attach the heat shield. It doesn't have the clean, precise look of the original, no matter how well finished it is.
