Walter63a
You guys are great! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif The thing that would make me happiest would be for everyone who reads this to vote single issue this year-2ND. AMENDMENT ALL THE WAY, BABY!!! For your Tommygun's sake, get informed (about all the candidates you can vote for), get registered, get your friends and family out to vote and don't forget to vote. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/unsure.gif Got that soldiers?!!! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif Best Regards to you all, Walter P.S. If you still have any doubts about John Kerry, read the latest issue of America's 1st Freedom (NRA publication-If you are not a member, shame on you)! Also, one parting shot is in order. It seems that it would have been o.k. with Kerry for America to preemptively strike Iraq back in 1997, when Clinton (liberal Democrat) was in office, but irresponsible for a Republican to do the same!!! He had the French and Russian thing down right though, especially the part about not being able to trust the French!!!:-) Link: http://www.washtimes.com/national/inbeltway.htm

Walter63a
Junglewalk, I carry on the way I do because the liberty of America is at stake today as it has never been before, except perhaps in the Revolutionary War and WWII. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/unsure.gif I do not believe that to be an exageration! Those two generations showed enormous self-sacrifice and determination to be free/ remain free. They also lived in times and under conditions which most of us alive today would consider ones of privation, perilous, tumultuous, and just plain life-threatening. We, in other words, have no idea of the price they paid. I have always felt more in tune with my father's generation (he was a WWII Pacific Theatre veteran). We (most Americans born post WWII) have no idea how easy and relatively peaceful our lives have been from birth until now. However, we are now facing an enemy who is just as determined, tenacious, resourceful and fanatical as Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan. The difference is that they (Muslim fanatics) have easy access to worldwide communications (for both secrecy and propaganda) through the the internet, nuclear, chemical and biological weapons, and they have bases all over the world (predominantly in Muslim nations and those with large Muslim populations), etc. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif On top of that they have their "useful idiots" around the world who intentionally and unwittingly support them. I would include among these "useful idiots" France, China, Most of Europe, the U.N., and the extreme liberals in our own nation who want to disarm all of us (Americans) in the name of crime-prevention, thereby leaving the populace of America vulnerable to every form of degradation, from individuals, to our own government, to foreign invasion and attacks. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/mad.gif If any of you think my statements are extreme or unfounded, I pity you! I know I am preaching to the choir, for the most part, considering the membership of this board. Also, I consider you guys to be relatively more aware than the average American and friends. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif Junglewalk, I consider you a friend and an ally, and I'll have to keep Kentucky in mind.:-) Warm Regards, Walter

Walter63a
Thanks Lionhart! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif It is good to know that others out there share my convictions. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif Warm Regards, Walter P.S. To those with eyes to read and fingers to vote with, excercise the right that over 200 years of American soldiers and patriots fought and died to provide us with! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif
Walter63a
Junglewalk, I got your email and replied today. It irritates me when I hear about self-aggrandizing people like John Kerry getting three Purple Hearts for minor wounds (some self-inflicted), for which he did not spend one day in the hospital. However, it just puts me over the top with anger and disappointment to know there are brave, loyal, self-sacrificing Americans like you out there, who were burned from the neck down (in a tank in Vietnam) and spent over a year recovering in the hospital, only to receive one Purple Heart. Is that justice? No. Yet, it gives me tremendous joy to live in a free nation: the greatest nation on earth. Every time an American votes, salutes "Old Glory," strives to protect the Constitution and its Bill of Rights, obeys the laws of God and men (Remember: God's laws always come before man's laws, including the right of self-defense, reitterated and modified in the 2nd Amendment to "security of a free State"), aides the weak among us, writes to soldiers in the field, and remembers those who have sacrificed so much, he or she honors all veterans and is an exemplary American. Most important of all, we will not remain a great nation, unless we are also a just nation, a religious nation. The founding fathers said as much and, in the Holy Bible we find, in Micah 6:8, "He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?" http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif Best Regards, Walter P.S. Does this mean pre-emptively nuking people is wrong? http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/mad.gif Probably, but there is always our God-given right of self defense. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif P.P.S. J.W., I knew you were kidding in your post, but sometimes I like to spout-off to move the fence-sitters, whoever they are! Yes, the description in your email reflects some of my personality. I do like to type/ write with the occasional, or sometimes more than occasional, drink in a dimly lit room of dark wood paneling, while sitting in a comfortably stuffed leather chair. I don't smoke, but I have always enjoyed the smell of pipe tobacco. I guess you could call that second-hand smoking.:-)
junglewalk
Walter; I just read your astonishing email msg, and am humbled by your thoughts put into kind words. There are so many 'of us' out there, if they would only take that stand which is so important for our country's future......we can only hope to awaken them, and do our part... I only wanted to be sure, that I did not upset you, with an arrogant combination of words, that you may have taken wrong......I want to upset no-one on this forum; there is such a great bunch of guys here(where's the women?), who know so much, that I learn something each time I view the threads. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif I only fear the unbelievable passage of time, as the years zoom by, in my minds eye, that I will not be firm enough to do all the gun & re-enactment related things I want to do, for much longer http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/sad.gif (I hate B-days)..But this is my problem. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/dry.gif Thanks Walter for your attention and kindness. Now, when the Hell are you going to get out of that gun-hating state ?? http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif
