Normal1959
Spent most of yesterday cleaning 29 magazines for the MP40. I took them apart and ran a blow torch through them. I then pushed a rag through them and it cleaned all the old dirt and cosmoline out in a flash. I then oiled all parts and put in new Wolff springs. The old springs were 75 years old and compressed about 2 inches. They came out beautiful and it was fun. Eric
Petroleum 1
That sounds like a nice rainy day project. Were they magazines you have used at the range before??
Normal1959
That sounds like a nice rainy day project. Were they magazines you have used at the range before?? I did use 7 of them but mixed them back in the pile. They all worked great but some that i came across were thick with the old cosmoline grease. The blow torch made life very simple and easy.I love the old character, wear and tear but want them to function like they do now.Eric

Normal1959
Just finished my last and 40th magazine. These are a sample of the old WW2 springs and the new Wolff springs. I also burned out and wiped away every last bit of the old cosmoline grease. I took my time and feel very comfortable the mags could not be better.Eric
