OGCA Newsletter and Thompsons on display

Recommended Posts

Sharing for those that perhaps are not either FaceBook or Ohio Gun Collectors Association (OGCA) members.

Attached is the most recent OGCA newsletter, in it are several gems regarding Thompsons recently displayed at OGCA events.

First off the Cover shows board member Ccasper15 with his winning display at the May OGCA show where he won "Best First Time Displayer", highlighting his NO 1310. Find an article on the display and the Thompson is on page 7

Further in on page 3, board owner David Albert has a teaser article on his upcoming presentation on "The Many Firearm Designs of Eugene Reising". David will present on this topic at the January 11th, 2020 meeting of OGCA. This also was shared on the Reising board.

More Thompsons on Page 9 are shown from the July OGCA display, including displays from board members Colt Chopper with his suite of 3 digit Colt Thompsons, Ccasper15 with his NO 1310 displayed once more, full auto 45 with his Band of Brothers treasure, as well as displays from the The American Thompson Association reference collection. These members taking the time and effort to present to other collectors their finest in support of our beloved firearm.

Hat's off to Ccasper15 for a great display at the OGCA meeting earlier this year. The American Thompson Association display was also fantastic. Many thanks to Tracie Hill and the many TATA members who made that event possible. I also want to recognize Colt Chopper for another excellent stand alone display.

The Ohio Gun Collectors Association (OGCA) meetings are usually better than any guns shows in the area. If you live anywhere near the vicinity of Columbus or Cincinnati, Ohio, you should consider joining OGCA. These events are private, members only. That said, I believe any TATA or Thompson Collector Association (TCA) or Board Member could easily find a sponsor for a guest pass. And don't forget about the upcoming 2020 All Thompson (TATA) and TCA Show and Shoots. If you have never attended one of these events, you are really missing a great weekend of fun.
