M3 9mm kit

Recommended Posts

Loader and mag well adapter not original. He adjusted post to mention mag well not Be original or some type of field modification . It be nice to own and have dual caliber GG .They were made for both models.

Never purchased one of these kits because I heard they are problematic. They don’t always drop in and run. Frank I. Had a kit years back did an article on It had to move barrel in collar and double up front plate to get to be reliable.

They can be made to work but it takes some knowledge. Im gonna be watching this as I have an original magwell insert in my parts collection....I might have to make a pass at this. Timing sucks as im going to look at a house Monday....

I had one for an M3A1, the only one I had ever seen. Lots 'o' feeding problems. Despite the barrel being set back, the cartridges were too far from the barrel. Lots of "nose dives."

I did fix the problem by setting back the barrel a little further, and adding a second front plate to keep the bolt from hitting the barrel.

As someone mentioned above, I did write an article on the "fix" but I could not find it in the SAR article archives.

Someone made me a very generous $ offer for the kit that I couldn't refuse.

Uses the same springs as .45. So its gotta be less mass

Looks like the jumpiest 9mm Ive seen

Id say its the least smooth .45 but the rock seems timed with the next round. So your always on target. Wonder if the 9mm is similarly timed.

The 9mm bolt is roughly 3/8 to 1/2 shorter than the 45 bolt. Same OD, same guide rod springs and so on. The fact that its a little shorter lends itself to the reduced weight so the 9mm has enough ass to propel the bolt back far enough so it can sear up
