regalgseguy
I know very little about M1/M2 conversions. I'm very interested in this Inland 1944 production. Other than the price being steep, is this a good bet conversion? I appreciate any information you could provide me on this. Thanks, Jay https://dealernfa.com/shop/m1-m2-carbine-inland-excellent-5210679/
M17ap
Only real M2 's were made by Winchester and Inland . All were late war guns. Any other manufacture even US GI are all conversion.Price seems high for a conversion - Earls gun shop. Original guns serial number range are listed in several good carbine books. Maybe I'm a little off on prices but conversions like this were going for $7000 maybe $8000. Original Win & Inland were going for $12000 to $15000. Corrections would be appreciated if my estimates are off.
JJX
Is that a registered receiver? I suggest that you first determine if you want a registered receiver or a parts kit.I like the registered parts kits. Several good discussions in the threads in this forum, but I cannot find the recent ones right off, and the thread titles are not always obvious. Here is an older one to get you started. http://www.machinegunboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=17228&hl

Kits for a bit more, but originals of course will command the highest price. Saw one for 15k a few months ago but not sure if it sold at that price. You can also negotiate price with him and/or terms of payments. I just purchased a grease gun from him and absolutely a great guy to work with in my opinion. dalbert
It's a receiver conversion. Gun looks pretty nice. One of my M16's is an Earl's Gun Shop conversion. If you have any specific questions about this weapon, I will be there in person in a couple of weeks, and could take a look.
