I've Been Robbed!

Recommended Posts

Being an attorney that fights with insurance companies all the time, anytime you deal with a company that has any derivation of the words "state" or "farm" in their name, you are SOL (s*** out of luck). Horrible service, horrible claims adjusting, serving the almighty self through preservation of their dollar jerks.

If you want to know what I really think, just ask!

Well said TNKen! I was insured for 11 years by an insurance company here in NC that had "state" and "farm" in the name. After my wife backed into a car that was parked behind her, and not in a designated parking spot, we got got royally screwed by them. They stated that since the claim was over $2500 we ended up with three points on our insurance. Even though we both have very clean driving records, their attitude was "too bad, it was my wife's fault". They offered absolutely no help for us, as far as a rate increase break, just a tough luck. I won't even get into all the money we had been sinking into them for the last 11 years. I would not reccomend the online ins. co. that starts with a G.

Nick,

I dug up this old post because I had a similar situation occur to me; and it's even Thompson related (somewhat.)

I get a call from PK. My Thompson is ready to ship home. All I need to do is send him a check. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif

To quicken the process, I sent the check to him FedEx. On the way back from the FedEx office, some A$$#OLE turns left in front of me (in an intersection) and destroys my car. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/sad.gif I loved my car; it was an '86 Mustang convertible that had over 392,000 miles on it. It was like Al Bundy and his Dodge; inseparable!

Turns out this guy has no drivers license, no insurance, his registration is bogus, and he already had warrant out for his arrest that was issued in 1998!

So, I get stuck with the bill. The insurance company will only pay the bluebook value, which isn't much for an '86 Ford.

The good news is, they actually caught the guy (after he left on foot) and this guys warrant was a paternity warrant. He gets to pay for eight years worth of child support. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif

The other good news is that Tommy will be coming home soon. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Let's hope this "buzzard luck" ends soon!
