Need Help For My AR15

Recommended Posts

Hi all, i need some help, im just having some issues with my ar15..

took one of these vodoo innovations integral bolt carrier,.. et voila, surprisingly, my bolt wont fit the bolt carrier.

I tried them all, even hammering the bolt inside with no results. its just too tight.

Now, it would be a bolt problem or its a bolt carrier problem? because my bolt was fine on another carrier.. im afraid, i have the chance to swap it but i would not be happy if the new bolt carrier comes the

same way as this. and i have no chance to test another bolt

P.s

whats the internal diameter of the bolt carrier cavity should be? i measured this one and it is 1.34600

The coating on the Voodoo bolt, presuming it's one of those newer LifeCoat type coatings, tends to add a little bit of thickness to it. Coupled with a bolt that is on the high side of spec, this can happen. I think it's called tolerance stacking. If you can get your hands on another bolt(s), you may be able to find one that fits better. I have a Nickel-Boron bolt and carrier, and the increased thickness from both made the bolt assembly a little tight, but useable.

This is also what Vodoo customer service said.. the inner diameter of this carrier here is almost on the minimum spec (that is 0.5299, this one in particular is 0,52992126. . . ) and happened exactly what you said.m going to get it swapped with another carrier of the same type, and hopefully the new one will be larger.. hopefully. . .
