cmo5t
Hello, I'm looking at a Bridgeport M1A1 and being told the Thompson ( serial 126,3XX) has numbered upper and blank lower, which is correct for this series 122,000 through 127,000. Can anyone confirm this is correct/accurate. Also, what's market currently? Any insight would be tremendously appreciated. Thank you! StrangeRanger
I can't speak to the S/N range but unnumbered M1A1 lowers are very common. Mismatched pairs are also common. Many of these guns went through an arsenal refit and the parts got scrambled. Current prices seem to be in the low to mid 20s
LSU Tiger
From "American thunder III," U. S. Ordnance specification AXS-725, dated January 7, 1943 called for the serial to be marked "on the receiver only." A.O.C. frames had "full auto" marked as one line, Savage frames were marked on two lines. Condition and finish, black oxide (original) as opposed to parkerizing (refinish) dictates much of the price. I agree with StrageRanger's assessment of pricing. Edited January 18, 2021 by LSU Tiger
