Don't shoot 'em in the air, boys...we know better. The Chicago Police actually get on TV on the 30th to plead with the public not to shoot fireworks, and "especially guns" (handguns are illegal in the city). Funny story about handguns in Chicago: A friend of mine moved to Chicago from Denton, TX. Had a S&W 29, 8-3/8 Stainless. So, being the thoughtful guy that he is, even if he is a drummer, he took the 29 to the closest station house, put it up on the counter and said "Where do I need to register this, y'all know?" The officer behind the desk put his head in his hands, looked at my buddy, and said "Take that piece, go home, and put it away...like very well away!" Or words to that effect; I'm remembering the best I can. He does have a very honest face, and no, he doesn't want to sell the 29. I ask him every year.
