Sling Swivel Locations

Recommended Posts

Having discovered I have military surplus stocks on my Kahr 27 A1, and that the forearm had the swivel mounted way back toward the rear on the left side, I was wondering what was standard issue for US military Thompsons? Was it on the bottom of the forearm and buttstock? I've seen two different pics of allied soldiers (French and Brit) showing the forearm swivel on the side. Was this the way the allies ordered their Thompsons? Or was this a practice of individual soldiers? If so, was this also a common practice of the US GI?
