Ivan
Got my West Hurley Tommy gun back from Choppero. We did a late production look. Unfinned barrel and "L" type rear sight. Found an original unfinned barrel with compensator for a good price so that was a start ! Am very pleased with Choppero's work ! Function fired 60 rounds yesterday. To my suprise the windage on sight was right on, perfectly centered on target. Shooting a bit low but will correct that with next range visit. Maybe later will send lower in for full treatment, hold open switch and M1928 pistol grip. For now I am happy. Handles better with the short barrel. Lock up on butt stock is tight. Need to find a nicer horizontal fore end. The vertical is my favorite though .
taeelec
It looks nice Ivan! Now you just need a M3 sling to complete the look. Congrats! Todd in Oregon
Chudi
I have a 1927A1 from WH made in 1977. I'm thinking of going the SBR route like you did. Where did you purchase your barrel ? I'm not sure if I'll going to make a 1928M1A or stay with the '27 but I love your pic's.ThaxChudi
Oldtrooper
Get Kerr style no-buckle 1917 Enfield sling ... Nice repros available for around $25 (The Enfield sling is longer and has brass hardware)
Ivan
Got the barrel locally at fair price. It's G.I. but had a rough spot on bottom near compensator. The bore was like new. Want to get a nicer horizontal fore end and yes, a KERR type sling. Inherited the Thompson and it needed some repair. Original rear sight was gone so the "L" type sight and smooth barrel give it a WWII look. In the movie "The Story of GI JOE" Robert Mitchum and his Platoon Sergeant both carry this style for part of the movie. Just watched it the other night.
