Mr. Big Guy,

Unfortunately, not listed in Gordon's reference book. Without shipping dates when they were sold, it is impossible to tell what model they were. The serial numbers were not sold in consecutive order, but to some degree they generally follow a pattern of lower numbers being earlier sales. Most guns seen in the lower 3000 serial number range are 1921A Models, with 1921AC probably coming in second. There are some very low numbered 1928 Navy Models, but they are the exception. I would think it likely that those numbers were 1921A or 1921AC Models. No way to tell for sure, however.

Colt NAVY NO 9633 originally acquired by the Boone County Sheriff's Office in Boone County, Iowa has surfaced - complete with the original Form 1, Registration of Firearms, dated September 18, 1942. The Date of Acquisition on the Form 1 is, "Prior to July 26, 1934."

A review of pictures indicates a Type 2 compensator. It is in excellent condition and now with its second owner.

Ron, are you able to send me a screenshot or photo of that info? Id like to print it out and keep it with the gun.

Thanks,

Duane, You COLTS appears to have been reblued or touched up. Also, the wood may have been refinished. The wood to metal fit is off for a COLTS. When you get possession, please post more and better photos. Specifically the barrel showing the FINS from the side.

Sandman1957

FWIW I hope I am wrong on this one.

I am already aware of the wood being refinished at some point. Not sure about the re-blue. The barrel was replaced at some point. The price I paid reflects those things, at least in my opinion it did. But happy to post more photos when I get it. I am satisfied with the purchase. Edited by Dtu2179

I am not sure if 6129 is in Gordon's book.

It's in the collection of:

Anniston Army Depot: U.S. Army’s Museum Support Center

There are (or were) two nearly pristine Colt 21AC's in the armory of the St. Louis County Police Department, my old-old employer. These were legacy weapons from the old Sheriffs' department. I worked with the armorer at the time (early to mid 70's ) and got to fire them at the old County range. I've had Thompsonitis ever since. I kick myself now that I did not record the serial numbers. They may be listed in Gordon's reference, I have no way to check. Would love to find out more, they were beautiful specimens.

Hello. I have an update on Colt 1921 Thompson Serial Number 7244. I am the current owner of it and absolutely love this gun as it is my prized possession. I bought it two years ago from Ruben Mendiola of www.dealernfa.com. This gun was sold by E.E. Richardson to the Kenosha, Wisconsin Police Dept and is referenced in Gordon's Book. This gun was also serviced by Dan Block. This is for update purposes.

I came across a Colt lower that was from a French Colt gun. Bought it on GunBroker a decade or so ago.

It's serial number 9639 and had PK make some Colt like internals for a Colt like display gun.

Another Irish Sword. No idea on the serial number though; I spoke with the docent in the office next to the display and he had no idea either. Regardless, this one is on display at Caernarfon castle in Wales, in the Welsh Fusiliers’ museum as part of a display of weapons seized from the IRA.

Yes, all three are listed as follows:

7080 David Soper collection Silver Spring Maryland 3/11/05. This gun apparently came from the Arkansas State Prison system.

5369 1928 Navy Arkansas Penitentiary, Tucker Penitentiary Facility (1 of 2 shipped 8/19/33) (5369 & 5920)

Arkansas Department of Corrections, Pine Bluff, Arkansas

5920 1928 Navy Arkansas Penitentiary, Tucker Penitentiary Facility (Form 10) (1 of 2 shipped 8/19/33) (5369 & 5920)

Arkansas Department of Corrections, Pine Bluff, Arkansas

What is the story behind #8090, did that come from the Arkansas State Prison System too?
