minimike
https://www.ravennaarmory.com/ He had a few in stock this past week and only $60. He sells both WW1and WW2 types. I have a WW1 version on the way for a back up. Edited December 15, 2020 by minimike
minimike
The original gas regulator that came with the A1918 is still in the rifle. The new one from Ravenna Armory is on the right.
nate129
Caution, the Ravenna units are for the OOW semi 1918a3. The regulator holes are different than originals, I believe larger to provide the extra gas to knock the hammer back for the closed bolt system. But the good news is BMG parts sells a similar early regulator with the correct size holes for the original guns. I recently picked one up, price was reasonable and quality is as good as original. minimike
nate129, Im jealous as I guess I need the Ravenna and not the one from BMG. On the bright side the kids already shoot more of my ammo than I can keep up with. I would have to keep a real BAR a secret or go broke.
nate129
Minimike, yeah with the ammo crunch we are in right now shooting full auto is getting to be too expensive for sure. Hoping some of the Privi 30-06 500 round 150gr garand optimized (PP3006GMC) bulk cans come back reasonably priced, it seemed to be the best deal around for new ammo. All the Milsurp stuff seems to be dried up now. Only way to get deals anymore is through connections or estate sales it seems. Those m1918a3 (especially the Colt clones) seem to be going up in value - sometimes approaching 1/3 the price of a transferable or around the price of a pre May sample...the good news is if you sell yours and upgrade no one may notice the physical difference so it helps keep that secret...Until range day
