Some exceptional TSMGs coming up at Morphy's on November 18

Recommended Posts

This is one of the nicest 1921ACs I've ever seen offered for sale;

Perhaps the nicest ?
I'll have the popcorn hot and buttered for this one.

A 3 digit one here;

And a Savage 1928 here;

Lots of other neat stuff including two 13MM Anti-tank Mausers.

Is it me or does the Savage '28 look like it has a Colt barrel?

It is S marked on left side but that is a great example of a very early Savage barrel.

The 3 digit one was one that I looked at last year for my dad when he finally decided to buy one after liking mine so much. The price he wanted for it then was $40,000 I think, but it has a replacement barrel. You can see the added stamps and no index mark. No thanks. Supposedly he sold it to someone for what he wanted, but who knows. My dad ended up getting one from a great member here instead.

5662 is certainly nice.

Lighting can do a lot.

Looking at the first two (white background) photos of 5662, there is a light scratch direction below the last O in Corporation, starting on the receiver and extending onto the grip frame. It is all but invisible to the eye in the next (black background) photo. There is another, trailing down from the right leg of the R in New York. And another starting on the left leg of "Auto", curving upward left. Both also not easily visible in the BB photo.

Knowing exactly where to look indicates traces of the marks, but not at all like the white background photos.

Not accusing anyone of anything, just pointing out how much difference lighting can make.

Also interesting: It appears that no radius was cut on the drum slots; they look like sharp, square edges.

They look square because the drum is in it. I think

The drum could also be blocking some bounce lighting that would show the radius.

That is some serious hard-edged lighting on the black background shots.

Any radius is cut off, and just disappears into the shadow.

If anything, it shows the hand cut edge treatment on the slots.

The MP18.1 is the first shoulder held SMG and used in WW!

here is a link to Ian McCollum shooting this same gun. Very Very Rare and a sweet shooter!!

There are also 3 grease guns, 2 1921 tommies, 4 28's and one M1 and zero M1a1s in this auction,

Morphys is my favorite auction house and I find the items are scrutinized exceptionally well.

Check out the above link for the nicest 1921AC that lightguy has ever seen offered for sale.

Scan through the photos until you arrive at the magazines offered with the 1921AC, a 1st version WPS L drum and four Colt era Patent Date XX magazines,

Notice anything out of the ordinary with the Patent Date mags?

Stay safe

Richard

Mine is cleaner after looking at the scratches pointed out in detail by mnshooter.

That's the problem with buying from pics.

Sometimes you win.

Sometimes you lose.

I have been lucky.

Always best from any buyer ask seller how many he has owned, fired. and seen in lifetime, if less then a 100 go back to square one

Any good Tommy guy should have looked at around a 1,000 or so maybe more.i Like when you come across guys "The best i have seen." and they had one or two and have seen around 20 or 30....It all takes time lots of time Decades.RON K.

Other than the replacement wood, is there a reason that Lot 3511 has such a low estimate? It's a '21 but they're estimating it will go for less than '28 pricing.

Those estimations of auction guns are usually lowballed in order to attract more bidders, it's the norm. On the other hand, maybe some owners are frightened that YOUR BOY Biden will do exactly as he says he will do regarding guns. You voted for him, now your wondering why people may be cashing out before these guns become worthless.

Not to mention hell be trying to ban the online sales of everything. Good luck getting cheap or easy ammo again if that were to happen. Not sure why anyone on this forum would vote for him either, but hopefully well at least retain the senate.

Well for some international news some permits are being held up some changes in order at b.a.t.f. And contacted today and offered all kinds of guns South America is baling out and even some nice stocks in Germany. and a warehouse of stuff in Sudan. and Libya.however cash and carry and haul out.

One deal went south when the gov says well usa we no not what goes on change laws and forms or we won't sell you.

I think this next year will be some sort of crazy.And i would not be laughing fat saying i got lots of mg's.. the million buck collection might become 100 grand in parts.{and who will buy the parts?only people that might need them}

A few guys said today the gun retirement is not 100% insured now.sad really sad that was the American way.a case of blue and wood for a case of green
