Oldtrooper
Since 1962 when I first saw "Combat" the TV series as a kid the Thompson has always been my favorite weapon ... In 1986 I passed on purchasing a 1928A1 from a class 3 dealer in Muncie Indiana ... It would have cost me all of $3700 with the federal tax stamp. I was with a friend who was picking up his BAR that ran him $2400 ... He has been offered 30K for it an won't sell ... If only. Today I have to settle for a short barreled rifle ... The cost of the tax stamp is the same, but the cost of a Thompson SMG has gone off my scale ... At least for now. I put 300 round through it yesterday ... It was still fun.
