allweaponsww2
Hello everybody! There are interesting photos with unusual swivel sling assembly. Is it British / Australian style or something else? Also has "wings" for the sight from the Model M1 / M1A1 .. Oldtrooper
I think it was mostly a British thing ... Maybe some of the Marine Thompson's in the 30's may have been modified this way. (According to Hollywood anyway) I added a M1903 swivel to my vertical grip.
Adg105200
It could have been either repaired, or a parts gun made up of leftover parts. Looks to be a British configuration. Andrew
anjong-ni
Yes, someone in the last 75 years has installed an "M1A1" sight on this 1928. Surely some history to this one...Phil
Ron Mills
Arsenal rebuild maybe, but the usually British-associated swivel may suggest differently. Curious for sure.
Bridgeport28A1
Both the winged fixed rear sight and the milled swivel added to the front grip both could easily be a civilian additions. Quality of the rivet installation would be the first clue as to whether it was done in the military or in somebodies basement.
