Russian m1
http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif Hi out there, found the site a few days ago, great place for information, wish I had found it sooner. I have just bought in the UK a Deactivated Russian M1 (Sorry guys, but thats all we can buy here now!) It is a Savage M1, Serial Number 68059, GEG Inspection marks. No Russian markings. No "US Property" marking. No crossbolt in the stock and a plain 'L' sight. Complete with a Seymour 20 round Magazine. Oiler, (black crackle painted brass), brass cleaning rod and screwdriver. Came with M1936 Pistol belt,(Khaki dated 1942) and 5 Pocket Ammunition pouch. All in unissued condition. Some degreasing later, a little linseed oil and it looks as good as new. Can any body tell me an approximate manufacture date? Are there any records to show how many were shipped to Russia? Keep up the good work guys, wish I could shoot one! billie32
Not sure where you can find out how many were shipped to Russia. As for the date of manufacture and just about everything else you could want to know, pick up a copy of Franks book which is available on this site. It is a wealth of information. Congratulations on your purchase!

Russian m1
All the Semour mags I have seen are in mint condition as made yesterday, just need a polish to clean off the fingerprints, load the shells and thats it. Oil bottle still had oil in it - cleaning rods unused and belts folded since new! I am tempted to buy another M1 as a pair would look good on the wall. They are too clean for reenactors to use in the field, as they are straight from the factory Russian m1.

Hawkeye_Joe, All this stuff seems to be Lend-Lease. Is this legal to import or does the ban apply to only gun parts?
Ron Mills
Is it too early in the day to cry in my beer over those prices? Good for you, Russian m1, buy all you care to! We'll just dream on this side of the pond...
Hawkeye_Joe
My take on it after reading all the posts about it is that the mags are not like the parts.. and certainly the screwdriver and oil bottle and cleaning rod can't be. I'll let you all know if I get a call by the US Customs or BATF..... Oh and my revised bill that they sent me states the cost for all that was $93.75 http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif
