The 1943 St. Louis Glider Accident

Recommended Posts

Very well presented, and a story I had never heard before. I was lucky to know a WWII glider pilot, who was the father of a close friend. I heard many stories about the WACO Glider in combat. He used to spend a lot of time at a Glider Pilot's museum near Ft. Worth...I'm not sure if it's still there.

A couple of years ago i was in New Orleans and went to the WW2 museum there. They have a diorama set up with the front section of a Waco glider. I believe there is a Jeep coming out of the nose section that is opened up. I stood there staring at this thing in amazement it looks like an over sized model airplane.
