johnsonlmg41
I think I've completed the set (for the most part), the 50,55, 65 and now this pistol? I think I'll take the second model 50, set the switch to semi and pretend it's a 60? Hard to justify the pricing on model 60's IMO? Condition is pretty nice and is original from what I can tell, but I have not seen a strawed hammer before (I've only seen one other in person, other than pics on the web)? The seller had been dragging this to shows for a couple years and I think I'm probably the only one who ever had any interest? I did ask if he had a spare mag......LOL. dalbert
johnsonlmg41, Congratulations on your Reising pistol acquisition. The hammers are strawed. Rule #1 with these pistols is to only fire standard velocity ammunition. Yours appears to be in very good condition, and is one of the later pistols, made by the Reising Manufacturing Corp. sometime between 1924 and 1925. n64atlas
Nice score. To really complete the collection you need these models as well. The models 165,150,151,and the 65modified MC-58. Also the rare Reising made pistol holster. I have all but a M55
johnsonlmg41
Thanks David. Not a lot of good photos on the net and what I did see did not look strawed? N64atlas, I don't think I'm going to go any further down the Reising rabbit hole.......too many .22's here already! And I can't bear to spend all the money on spare mags for all of them! Those are pricey for what you get. The holster would be a cool accessory to have. I'll have to start looking.
n64atlas
This is a Reising made holster. Not sure if the made them before they moved to New York. Edited February 4, 2019 by n64atlas
johnsonlmg41
That's a nice accessory to have. I'm guessing they are tough to find!
n64atlas
I've seen an aftermarket one on gunbroker but not a Reising marked one like mine. I got mine and my pistol frome thr Jeff Reising estate. Jeff was the Great-nephue of Eugene. He passed away at an early age. I also bought a M-65 trainer from the estate.
