Hmmm.

I didn't see "The Wrath of God" listed.

c.1973 with Robert Mitchum and Victor Buono. lotsa good TSMG action.

Fanciful tale about TSMG meets the old west, with Robert Mitchum as a defrocked priest in 1930's old Mexico where the Mex banditos were still living in the late 1800's based on their guns and horses.

Best scene: Mitchum, in his priest garb walks into a saloon where the banditos are about to have their way with a seniorita after killing her dad or husband or somebody.

Mithum has a large carpet bag, and sets it down on the table. one of the banditos asks him what he wants and Mitchum replies something. Bandito asks if the priest has any credentials.

Mitchum replies; "why, yes, i have very good credentials, would you like to see them", then opens up carpet bag, whips out 1921 TSMG with drum and hoses down banditos.

The 1932 prodution of Scarface isn't on the list. Starring Paul Muni, George Raft. Tracie Hill talks about it in his book. All the scenes were filmed with LIVE ammo! Paul Muni has a great line while holding and talking about his new Tommy. "You can carry it, just like a baby!". http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/tongue.gif

Yeah, they used to do some crazy shi*t back in the old days. I saw in one Hollywood "coffee table" book that in "Little Ceasar" in the scene where they set up the 1917 water-cooled in the window to take him out that they actually used a Thompson marksman on a scaffold firing live ammo just over Edward G. Robinson's head. They had a picture of the scene being shot with the gunner in it.... http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif

In one of Jimmy Cagney's last TV interviews, I think it was on Merv Griffin's show, he said that in one scene in a movie where the cops had him pinned up in an upstairs room, the one where Pat O'Brian was a priest and they got his mom there to try to get him to surrender, he was firing out a window when a cop with a Thompson fired at him, barely missing his head ...he said those were live rounds coming through the window at him..!!!!!!!! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif

They were Nuts!!..

Sahara is hard to beat.

One of my favorites is "Bring me the Head of Alfredo Garcia" 1973, directed by Sam Peckingpah.

There is a great scene where Gig Young pulls out a 28 and mows down about 18 folks in slow motion,

lot's of film spent on the Thompson itself.

Just rented and watched "Bataan" w/ Robert Taylor. Lots of Thompson action. Several 1928's with vertical grips front barrel ring sling swivels and "L" drums. Japanese being taken off their feet backwards when hit..... http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif

http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif "Sahara" and the recent "Windtalkers" are my favorite, for the Tommy action, and the other weapons & armor used(even running Jap Tankettes in Windtalkers)...........Again, we remember that Elvis had 2-ea Colt Thompsons. I wonder if either Nicholas Cage or "Michael Jackson" got them transferred to them, when they were members of the Presley Family... http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wacko.gif ..(deep thoughts.............jw
