M1 Garand 'Winchester' Jan 45 worth

Recommended Posts

Hiya RKIs...

I hope some of you are also Garand people. Any idea what I could get for the Garand listed below?

This comes from a distant WWII vet relative. I have two others which are less valuable and I need

some cash to purchase a mobility scooter or else I would keep it.

The bullet guide, buttplate and stock are the only items which are not "correct" for the serial number.

I am thinking of taking it to Cabelas.

I paid about $1500 for my 1942 SA rebarreled w/ a '47 barrel and a new stock. Haven't been following the market lately but I would figure it should be worth at least $12-1500.

Really depends

We have a very decent Winchester M1D with an original M84 optic that get's no love at $2400 at shows. We would let it go a couple hundred less but nobody would jump at it

Here your typical M1 is still an $800 rifle

I recently bought 2 Winchester M1s from the CMP. 1 Field Grade (830.00) and 1 Service Grade (930.00). Both rifles have nice metal but only a few Winchester parts. Winchester M1s have been selling for more than Springfields to Collectors because of their lower production. Because of your rifle having a majority of Winchester parts and without seeing the rifle in person, I would go along with Adg105200 in estimating it at the $1200-1500 range. A collector might possibly buy it for the parts to "correct" a nicer rifle. Condition-condition-condition.
