tom silver
There are 15 fins on bbl. above the vertical front grip on first photo, but some barrel's are straight without those fins on them. I see both versions on the M6's when I research this SMG. The one I bought recently is the top photo with the fins or whatever you call them. Can someone tell me why Ingram made variations of the barrel's if they did, or were ones without the ridges replacement barrels? Thanks
tom silver
I have researched a little more ad found this. Model 6 submachine guns were produced in two basic configurations, "Military" and "Police". The "Military" version had plain wooden forearm, plain barrel and protected front sight. So if this is true, did Ingram made some Police models with the straight barrel's also. Does anyone know for sure.

SOMETIMES THINGS ARE ELIMATES OR CHANGED DURING PRODUCTION AS A COST SAVEING OR TO SIMPFY PRODUCTION, JUST WO, aNDERINNG Hey Billy since I am a new guy when it comes to M6's and just purchased mine at an online auction, I am wanting to learn as much as I can. I ordered the Mac Man book and should get it this next week. I noticed a number of configuration differences on them and the earlier ones for sure were not set up as the later ones were. The one I'm getting is in the 1200 serial number range and I also heard that barrel lengths also varied, so finding what was added and omitted is good information to know. Thanks Tom
