Thompson Smith Contact Info

Recommended Posts

PK said the same thing to me at the beginning of 2019 and when I checked in with him in the spring time. He isnt adding anyone to the wait list for a complete overhaul if thats what youre looking for.

John Andrewski will correct Blish slots/ refinish guns/ and do most other Thompson smith work if you need that. Ive also worked with Dan Block who does great work and has the handle Deerslayer on here and Philadelphia Ordnance does smith work as well.

He told me a month ago that his 'queue is currently unmanageable' and is not taking on any new work.

That's a shame. PK does such great work. Correct and perfect in every way. He must really take his time with every piece and it shows.

It is my understanding that PK is not accepting any more West Hurley Thompson guns in his now famous queue. However, that does not mean he is not accepting other Thompson related work, i.e., barrel exchange, rear sight upgrade, grip mount repair or replace, etc. I believe PK does a lot of other gunsmithing besides re-manufacturing West Hurley Thompsons. If you have any other Thompson work besides a West Hurley complete do over, I would not hesitate to contact him and find out if and/or when he is available to perform other requested work. And yes, his work is perfection!

Bob Bowers at Philadelphia Ordnance and Dan Block also do fantastic work. I have heard good things about John Andrewski but have never seen his work. I would very much like to see pictures of where John Andrewski corrected the Blish lock slots on a West Hurley receiver.

Would it be possible for PK to hire another smith to help? He obviously has so much business it is unmanageable. Another hand would probably pay for their own salary in the amount of business they allowed to go through the shop. Just an idea.

Thank you for all the advice and referrals. I'll make some inquiries. For us in the community it would be nice if PK had an apprentice or two to pass on his knowledge and skills for future generations of collectors and shooters.
