Have We Completely Forgotten?

Recommended Posts

9/11 did not even make the front page of my very conservative Paducah Sun paper. No mention AT ALL. Business as usual in the USofA. Guess that means we are resilliant.....or very forgetful......

Our IDPA match was today. Before we started, the match director asked that we all pause in silence to remember those who lost their lives on Sept 11 as well as those who have died since then fighting terrorism. Tonight I watch a 9-11 Spercial on PBS. I'd seen it before but it still makes me cry.

Then I read an article on the MSNBC web site quoting Atta's father as follows:

“No nation has done as much evil in the world as America did, and you do not expect God to punish it?” And then the defiance: “If a Palestinian flies a plane and strikes the White House and kills Bush, his wife and his daughters he will go to heaven. So will any Muslim who defends his faith.”

Is there any way to ensure peace other than by killing the enemy?

Chris,

The 9/11 memories were strong here in Memphis.

It was just yesterday that a man at Memphis International Airport (MIA http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif ) was arrested. Security thought he looked suspicous, so the searched his carry on bag. He had several razor blades hidden in the spine of a book. After taking him into custody, the found a letter (on him) with Osma Bin Lauden's name written on it. The man's name - Muhammad!

Memphis has been on the lookout for hi-jackers since the mid 90's because of FedEx. In about 1995 a FedEx employee on a FedEx airplane tried to hi-jack it with a claw hammer. He was going to fly it into an oil refinary that is on the edge of the city. It was to payback for getting fired from FedEx.

There are some real nut cases out there!

Norm

Even dealing with major hurricanes, the 9/11 anniversay was covered extensively by the local media down here...many local events were postponed, but not cancelled, due to Ivan....on a personal note...the most sought after targets at our M.G. shoot all wear towels for hats....There will be no peace in this world til islam is dead!...Capitalism is an economic function, islam is a brain malfuction... http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ph34r.gif

Nice presentation Chris, I think it needs to be aired on television to remind people of what promted sending our military oversees.

In an election year they are trying to throw the war at the campaign against Bush. Personally I would have been more disappointed if we hadn't gone after the terrorist.

I hate to hear of a soldier dying but not doing anything could have ultimately cost many more lives.
