Nate,

There was a long thread on the gun pictured a few years ago.

http://www.machinegunboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19909&hl=%20manitowoc%20%20police&page=1

The guy with the fedora and tie in the picture with the weapons on the ground was a Detective on the Manitowoc Police Department that ended up becoming the Chief of Police of the agency. He somehow obtained possession of the gun that is the subject of the thread in the link I just posted. The gun was sold through the Manitowoc PD to a Dealer in 1971 and was in private hands until one of the Board members here purchased it and touched off a months-long investigation to determine the origin of the gun.

We had copies of the pictures (plus others) you posted of the Navy Sea Scout demonstration. The pictures came from a retired officer on the Manitowoc PD who obtained them from the historical society or similar source. That is how we determined who the Manitowoc Police Detective was in the photos. Hope you enjoy the previous thread.
