BigMike
Shot 200 rounds today and was having trouble with light primer strikes while on full-auto, fires everytime on semi-auto. Would have the trigger pulled and gun would stop shooting, I would open the action and a round would be in the chamber with a strike on the primer, but light. Happened about 6 times in the 10 mags any ideas?
StrangeRanger
This is purely a guess. If the hammer is not searing up but simply following the bolt into battery it could lead to light strikes. Check the selector, connector and disconnector for wear or other damage. jim c 351
I agree with SR.Hammer not locking back until tripped. When the gun is unloaded, set on FA, trigger pulled to rear, does the hammer stay in the cocked position??Have you replaced the original hammer spring with a Wolfe spring ??Jim C

Bridgeport28A1
What model 1928, m1, m1a1? Maybe a worn firing pin This thread is in the Reising Forum. It is not a Thompson.

StrangeRanger
The Wolff spring kit is the greatest single reliability improvement you can make to a Reising but its absence would not explain why the failures occur only in FA since the hammer release is exactly the same in both FA and SA modes IF the gun is operating properly. Until proven wrong I stand by my original diagnosis that the bolt is not searing up 100% of the time in FA.
jim c 351
SRMany years ago, when I was a young man, I installed a Wolfe spring kit in my M50. I don't remember why I did it since the gun was working OK.The gun stopped working properly so I removed the Wolfe springs. As I recall, I felt the extra power of the Wolfe hammer spring resisted the hammer from locking. So, what I am saying is , IF a Wolfe hammer spring was installed, it may have caused the problem, rather than solve it.But, we are getting a little ahead of things until the OP responds.Jim C
StrangeRanger
Interesting! My Wolff/Reising experience was exactly the opposite. I had a huge stash of berdan-primed Argentine .45s that ran 100% in my WH '28 but simply would not go bang at all in the Reising (nor frequently in either of my 1911s nor in my S&W N-Frame.) I put the full Wolff kit in the gun and the problem (and all or that Argentine ammo) disappeared. It may not be a necessity with boxer primed ammo but it sure isn't causing me ant issues either.
