MGM
This is my first posting even though I have been reading the boards. I am presently on my way back to Iraq again, with a fellow board member "Earle." I have been looking for a working C drum that is at a price not as high as the ones I have seen at different gun shows. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you. Walter63a
MGM, thanks for your service 'over there'! Thanks to Earle also! You guys stay safe, will ya! One of my boyhood friends is a Major in the U.S. Army, serving in central Baghdad. The following are some sites you can check for Thompson drums, parts and accessories (guns also): www.gunsamerica.com, www.gunbroker.com, www.ima-usa.com, and www.sturmgewehr.com There are many others on the internet. Just do a search for 'gun accessories' or 'gun magazines'. Also, there was a links page from this site, which has others I probably failed to mention. I have tried to find this links page recently, but couldn't. Nick, or one of you guys out there, maybe you can help. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif Regards, Walter
giantpanda4
How's this for your price range? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...&category=36257 I doubt it fits! If ebay zaps this - they will soon - it has a starting bid of $2K! And a buy it now of $4500!!! I still wonder how stupid this lister thinks ebay is - "10 rounds per ebay rules...." and he shows the picture in the instructions of 100 rounds loaded in it! Bid like crazy! farfuture
He knows how ebay enforces its rules. He says the magazine holds 10 rounds per ebay rules, which is a required statement; if he didn't say that, they would close down the auction. When he does say that, then they let it pass. We know he's lying; he knows he's lying. The buyer knows he's lying. But he gets to sell. The buyer gets what he wants (at big $). Ebay gets its fees. In truth, it is all morally dishonest. Not stupid. Dishonest. Marc
Arthur Fliegenheimer
The seller's duplicity lies not in his failure to mention the drum holds 100 rounds, but rather that this WH replica drum has anything to do with the gangster era, or WWII. He is essentially trying to extort $4,500 for a paperweight.
LIONHART
eBay will pull it. One cannot list a Firearms Magazine and state, "Holds 10Rds Per eBay Rules". The Seller must state that the Magazine can ONLY hold a maximum of ten rounds, and no more. Also, $4500.00!!!! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif
MGM
Thank you for the suggestions of the various websites. I have tried them all. In fact, I did see the one on "evil bay" for that outrageous price. I was told that a C drum, not an original, but one of the reproductions, has the "wind to 15 clicks" on it. An original would not. Is this true? I would not mind having a working reproduction. A few friends that I met at Knob Creek told me a working reproduction drum should go anywhere from $900 - $1000. Unfortunately, I have yet to find one for that price. Thank you. MGM
