Trying to Identify Maxim Lock parts

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'm new over here and mostly a newbuck to Maxims. Eager to learn and identify Maxim lock parts for which model made by who and what works with 1910 Russian locks. I have annotated the pictures to what I think is correct but could be wrong. I've read there is some interchangeability. I have the Devil's Paint brush and it only helps go so far. I'll post the pictures shortly when I figure out how.

Thanks, Aaron

The top row are the "auto" sears in the Maxim type locks. This sear releases the firing pin when the rear end of the lock stirrup rises as the lock goes into battery. As the toggle action straightens out, the rear end of the stirrup compresses the sear's tail end while the butterfly trigger holds the " hand sear" to the rear and automatic fire results. FWIW

Was I correct in my assumption that the five sears on the left are MG08 and the two on the right Russian? Click the pic to enlarge.

If I have identified correctly, which sears are reverse swap outs to other Maxim and even Vickers locks.

If I have a MG 01 Tumbler can it be used on the Russian lock? Also that part is stamped Swiss, or that is unique to the Chinese T24. That is the info I am attempting to learn from the experts. I thank you for your help Bob always fascinating when you drop in with your knowledge and historical background.
