jl7422
OCM and I had a discussion about the topic when the gun in question was being sold. As I recall, he had never uncovered any evidence of the gang using Thompsons.
TSMGguy
Lots of period photos exist, but none I've seen show Bonnie or Clyde with a Thompson.
M17ap
Remember reading a long time ago that B&C only had BAR 's that they stole from national guard armory. At some point they met Vern Miller and wanted to trade BAR 's for Thompsons but the other gangsters did not want them because they were too heavy. I guess that's why Clyde cut the BAR's to make them more maneuverable and lighter to handle.
Petroleum 1
In the beginning scene of the highwaymen movie they show Bonnie with a tommy during that prison break out scene. No tommy was found in the car after the ambush though. There was 3 BARs several shot guns and a bunch of handguns plus lots of loaded magazines and ammo.
