G-Man1006
Here is my Savage M1A1 Thompson Submachine gun serial number 815889. I believe this to be an excellent example of a WII era M1A1 Thompson Submachine gun in original condition. I picked this one up from a board member. TSMGguy
One of the nicer examples for certain. Nice to see one that hasn't been parked.
G-Man1006
Very nice! Does the lower match? This is a late production run M1A1 so there is no serial # on the lower because the factory stopped stamping serial #s on guns in the final production runs - served no purpose as they often switched lowers during rebuilds. Got Uzi
When did they start marking the US Property on the M1/M1A1s? Im looking at a 46,xxx gun and it has no marking and appears to never had one

DZelenka
Beautiful gun. THe rivets on the rear sight look a bit strange. First time I have seen domed rivets. Savages typically have flat rivets and AOs are dimpled.
Adg105200
Beautiful gun for sure! Congrats! Interesting observation on the sight rivets. I've never seen ones domed and proud like that before either. But being a later production gun, maybe Savage modified/sped up their rivet setting technique(?). Viewed with the butt on the ground, the J would be upside down.

Renz
It may be the lighting but it's interesting that the Dulite finish has a bit of a brown hue to it in some places more than others, especially on that rear sight. The butt plate looks as if it has never been pressed against a shoulder. Excellent example. Edited June 1, 2019 by Renz
