QUOTE (Arthur Fliegenheimer @ Jun 30 2004, 05:26 PM)
Kyle,
Lets see? You're either getting married, running for president, or going to be cryogenically preserved like Ted Williams.

I'm really not sure which would be the least desirable of those three options... http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/huh.gif

Its a boy!! It has a cocking handle. Remember the cocking handle controls the bolt which flies through the feed lips in order to insert....

Oh shut up John

Man... that John Jr is sure a swell guy. Thanks for posting the pics for me.

Don't know a lot of details. Gun is coming from private seller in Nevada. He's had the gun for several years. Previously it was with the Clark County Sheriff's Office. It is lightly stamped "C.C.S.O.- Sub05". The seller says one of the old timer deputies remembers when there was about 10 Thompsons all locked up together in a rack. This is obviously #5.

It is an AOC upper. He says the lower is marked "S" and so he suspects it was manufactured by Savage. Its my understanding that AOC assembled guns from various contractors. S/N is 329,xxx. It carries a GHD inspector mark and is marked US Property. The gun is suppossedly in very good condition. He's a knowledgeable gun owner and has owned everything froma 50cal BMG on down.

He responded to my WTB ad on Strumgewehr that I've had running constantly since last November.

I initially didn't want any PD marking "marring" my beloved gun. But for some reason (desperation perhaps) this situation seems kind of neat. I'm hoping that I can trace more of the gun's history as a result. Finally, I to get to benefit from having my C&R license by having the gun transfer directly to me.

In any event, I'm content.

Mine is a PD gun and is not marked as such. I think a PD marking is a great thing.

PD guns are "On the side of law and order." Better than being on the side of murder.

(I told you it would take six months to find one!!!)

Ill post pics for you anytime Kyle, just let me know.

Very nice. Vegas is in CC isn't it? I've had a few PD marked guns. I like 'em too. Unfortunately, it's alway looks like a monkey let loose with letter stamps or an electro pen. I never get the jewler engraved ones (seen one before).

Kyle, if you didn't like a PD gun I was going to start worrying about you. One from CC may have some unique history we all may not know about it. I f you can contact the departmet about it, they may help you some. Mine was very helpfull about mine. I hope to visit the department on my way to the TCA show this year. Remember that any PD gun will be more of a part of history then just your run of the mill gun.
