wcwarren
Does anyone have an idea of the barrel markings on this 1943 Model 50? I would think they are military proof marks (P) and a punch mark in the receiver (similar to what you see on all M-1 Carbine receivers) and maybe an inspector's initials. But there is documentation that this gun went to a Sheriff Office in 1943. My theory (just an idea) is that the gun was made to be accepted by the military and by 1943 Thompsons, Carbines, and Grease Guns were becoming more available and the military didn't want anymore so it went to law enforcement. Again just a theory. Any other ideas?
