Virginia's Gun Ban

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering with all the Leftist Politicians pushing for Civil Disarmament in Virginia and Rumors of National Guardsmen or now the possible talk of UN Peace Keepers(Troops) being used for Confiscation how would this effect the Class 3 Community and does Virginia allow the Private Ownership of NFA Weapons ??

Reminds me of the nut case stories from the 90s of the Russians or UN pre positioning equipment on the Gulf Coast for a planned invasion, turned out to be a junk yard full of surplus Soviet equipment a local dealer had purchased.

Regardless of what Virginia's legislature does the ban will probably never see the light of day. It will be tied up in court for years if not decades and huge sections or more likely all of it will be struck down. There are obvious issues with violations of the 2nd and 4th Amendments and arguably with the 14th as well.

The only fly in the ointment is that a precedent for firearms confiscation without due process has recently been set by Trump's outlawing of bump stocks by executive fiat. That however was done at the federal rather than state level.

Actually the plan is for French Army troops to occupy Virginia regarding the planned weapons confiscation. It is important to remember when you confront them, especially with German weapons, they will usually give you the "French Salute" by raising both arms in the air.

Rest assured the French Troops will come off the boat with their hands up just like in WWII.

Remember Waco?

Where the people were killed, the buildings burned, and the ashes bulldozed into the ground to hide all evidence?

No, wait. That was the Nazi's, and the town of Lidice, in 1942.

Something like that could never happen here, right?

We all make jokes, but a big majority of young people don't have the same feeling of guns that most of us have. I worry about the future of our hobby and possession of our guns and rights. God bless the 2nd amendment.

While VA is a serious wake up call these socialists are hell bent to remove any 2A among other things we have. So a number of other states are directly in play now. MI KY WI NC VA (I believe) are the targets for Holders play book on gerrymandering. Come 2020 they will push this agenda. Enjoy your Christmas and New Year with your family and friends.

Holder who??….

Kentucky is off the list....Ky-HB354 by a jerk named Donohue, is being crushed these past two weeks:.....This insane POS even included NFA weapons to be turned over to the Ky-State Police!!!

..as soon as this garbage hit the list, gun-owners hit our reps, and this thing is fading like smoke.

...About 5 years ago, a State Sen.Stien nit-wit, had a Bill, which gave us gun-owners 10 months to shoot every round we had, and then were only able to purchase ammo that had the micro-metered numbers on them. If found with a round, that was not serial numbered, one would be charged with a felony !..... That thing died a swift death, and that idiot scorned forever.

Virginia has more NFA registered Machineguns than any other state! This is info from the BATFE. Florida and Cali are 2nd and 3rd in ownership!

I don't know what's going to happen in Virginia with NFA machineguns with the new politicians coming in 2020. So it's going to be interesting!

Actually scary! I live in Virginia!

Joking aside, in reply to the OP:

1. Virginia is currently very good regarding NFA items. The only restriction that goes beyond Federal law is the Uniform Machine Gun Act, under which machine guns (not other NFA items) must be registered with the State Police after acquisition. The registration is free and is a one-time event.

2.The proposed draconian legislation, as currently pre-filed, would not affect NFA weapons. As a matter of fact, if the proposed AWB passes, we would have the paradoxical situation where semiautomatics would be banned, but full automatics would remain legal. Silencers were removed from the ban bill, but threaded barrels are one of the features that would make a pistol into an "assault weapon."
