usmc25
I was thinking of picking up a GSG MP-40 to add to the collection since its out of reach for me right now to buy a full auto one. I was wondering what you guys thought about it and if it was worth adding to the collection or not Rob
1gewehr
Interesting gun. Absolutely no interchangeable parts with the MP40, You can modify Belgian Vigneron magazines to fit. Fun to shoot, but it's basically, a big, heavy 9mm pistol that happens to look like a WWII SMG.
anticus
Yes, I got mine (and their Sturmgewehr replica in .22LR) to fill a niche in my collection. I even SBR’d it and like having a functional stock. Fun and reliable shooter with 9mm ball ammo. There are aftermarket upgrades available to improve the trigger, and a more authentic muzzle cap. I bought some Vigneron mags to modify as a winter project. There is one original MP40 part that fits the GSG-the sling.
usmc25
Thanks for the responses guys! What do you think is a fair price to pay for one? APEXgunparts
The GSG-MP40 in 9MM must be a very popular firearm.APEX has sold about 1K of the magazines and over 100 of the folding stocks.I have to restock when the shipments arrive from Germany.I would imagine the guns are the same way.Richard
Oldtrooper
If you do pick up a GSG MP40 install a stronger detent on the charging handle before you shoot it ... If you don't you have a good chance of losing the handle if shooting in a grassy field.
anticus
in a pinch you can wrap the shank of the handle with a strip of electrical tape. It actually works rather well.
