83Baron
Just saw the MP44 with a slight crack in the buttstock go for 35k while the Russian ppsh 41 brought 45k!! You just never know. Plus the Russian gun looked pretty beat up and seemed to be missing its site hood.
Black River Militaria CII
The Russian gun was a PPD40 not a PPSh, a fairly scarce example in the NFRTR. I don’t recall a PPSh being auctioned.
83Baron
Hello Bob. I remember seeing the ppd40 in the catalog but I only tuned in today to see where the ppshs would fall. Im pretty certain the Russian one went for the hammer price of 45k. The Chinese type 50 version went for 20k I believe. I did not see the ppd40 in the lineup I looked at today - but it might have been scheduled yesterday or for tomorrow. Also, besides the ppd40, the two ppshs and the two mp44s, from what I saw not many ww2 machine guns this go around.
Black River Militaria CII
Guess I only saw a small part of the lot of guns which had the PPD.....
83Baron
I just checked and the ppd-40 and the other mp44 (rewat) are in the lineup for tomorrow. Should be interesting to see what the ppd goes for!
83Baron
Bob, after a quick glance today the ppd-40 went for 27.5k, the rewat mp44 for 30k, and a paratrooper or Luftwaffe camouflage smock for 47.5k! Must have some story
Black River Militaria CII
Thanks for the follow up. I eventually looked over the full list. Higher prices than warranted for condition in my opinion but who's surprised?
