WTB - Savage finned 28 barrel and resting bar

WTB - Savage finned 28 barrel:

I recieved my form 1 back from the ATF on my British proofed dewat New York address/Patent date 28. It needs a new barrel and resting bar. I want to put a round "S" Savage and not a replacement barrel on the gun. If the barrel has a Cutts on it already (type 3 ok), I'd consider that although I have a proper type 2 if not.

Also, I would like a resting bar - if an original is not available, I'll probably order one from PK but thought I'd check.

Congratulations on your Form 1.

 

Just so you know, the resting bar is actually called a "Grip Mount."

 

Good luck with your search. All types of World War II GI grip mounts are getting very difficult to find. I don't remember the last time I saw a "S" marked grip mount for sale. The square S Stevens Arms and AOC marked grip mounts are the most common, when available.

 

Let us know how the reactivation goes. Those early Savage Thompson guns with Patent Dates are really nice!
